An executive-level job search is different from any job search you may have conducted in your career.

At the executive level, you are hired to turn a vision into reality, not to fit a job description. The competition is steepest at the top, and the person who wins is the one who illustrates a unique capacity to understand the vision and what needs to be done, and the ability to execute that vision.

Rattling off your accomplishments, experiences and strengths – which may work fine if you’re middle management – isn’t the way to win your next executive role. To convince an audience of stakeholders that may not have any understanding of the importance of some of your experiences that you can execute a vision, you need to tell the story.

Listen to this recorded session of ExecuNet Master Class led by ExecuNet Career Strategist Saundra Botts to learn everything you need to know on using storytelling for the ultimate career advantage, including:

  • Why “selling yourself” is not a successful strategy for an executive
  • Why storytelling is the new “persuasion”
  • How our minds absorb information from a story
  • Strategies to identify and define your own story
  • Tips to align your story with the vision

Saundra will show you how storytelling can help you powerfully and easily communicate your value and influence to your new employer, and beat the competition.

Saundra Botts is a Career Strategist with ExecuNet. Given most executives will not get their next role through a Headhunter she now uses the “inside information” from her prior experience in Retained and Contingency Executive Search to assist executives in career transition.

Working with such firms as WinterWyman Search, Dubin & Lee and First Call and overseeing numerous client accounts, ranging from start-ups to multi-billion dollar conglomerates, she has witnessed over 850 executive landings.

In 2008, she began facilitating workshops and webinars on the topic of “LinkedIn for Jobseekers” and was a featured lecturer on LinkedIn for Hult International Business School’s MBA and MA programs’ job search curriculum.
